EC Software has in cooperation with K3 Business Solutions developed an integration solution for the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The solution makes it very easy to get up-and-running with e-commerce projects and make them cost-effective.
The solution, called EC Web NAV plug-in, provides companies that already are using Microsoft Dynamics NAV ready-to-use integration to EC Software’s e-commerce system EC Web. This vouches for cost-effective e-commerce projects based on a future-proof platform. EC Web users are provided access to a full-scale system for web content management and publishing, a modern e-commerce system, flexible and professional design, and solid operations and full support.
“The solution has already been used in a couple of cases and we can see a noticeable decrease in project time. Our customers are very satisfied with the projects and it feels great to work with the product,” said Ingi Mar Elvarsson, CEO at EC Software.
The product is developed together with K3 Business Solutions, a world-leading consulting company focusing on ERP systems Microsoft Dynamics NAV and LS Retail. The company’s specialist competence has made possible a full integration to all functionalities with NAV. Settings are easily made in NAV, products and orders are managed through standard views, and all events can be tracked using the advanced specially-developed log function.
EC Web’s connections to Microsoft Dynamics NAV are constructed according to two methods. The choice of method depends on the data amount and the business logic. For connections containing advanced business logic through NAV a direct contact is established via Web Services. In cases of large data amounts , or data that is business critical to sales, this is managed by EC Software’s integration engine, EC Replicator.
EC Replicator is a tool for distribution and reception of data between the web and, in this particular case, NAV. The replicator builds on standard XML and offers ready-to-use connections to various ERP systems. The connection to NAV is developed in accordance with UBL (Universal Business Language) and the e-commerce standard NES (Northern European Subset), a central standard designed by several Nordic countries, as well as enterprises and organizations. All communication through EC Replicator is encrypted and the solution features built-in monitoring, validation, archiving and error management. EC Replicator is quickly implemented and easy to connect to new data sources.
